Kevin Nutt
Mr. Nutt is a graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School. He attended GACS 8th-12th grades. After graduation from GACS, he attended Harding University and received his Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1986. He attended David Lipscomb University for one year to complete the requirements for education. He received his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University in 2000.
Mr. Nutt has taught science for almost 20 years and he loves biology. He has taught life science, physical science, chemistry, physics and pre-algebra. He started his teaching career at GACS in 1987. He left GACS in 1993 to teach and coach in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Parkview Baptist School for 4 years. In 1997, he moved to Savannah and taught at St. Andrew’s School for one year before being recruited to Bible Baptist School as the principal but remained teaching 1-2 science classes each year. While principal of Bible Baptist School, the school passed their initial accreditation. Kevin returned to GACS in 2001 to teach Biology and AP Biology.
While teaching is a passion, so is coaching and playing sports. He has coached baseball, football, basketball, cross-country, and soccer. Baseball and football are his favorite sports to coach. Coach Nutt played 3rd base on the GACS 1982 State Championship baseball team his senior year of high school. He retired from coaching full-time in 2005.
Mr. Nutt has been honored by the Savannah morning news three times from former students at Bible Baptist School for Outstanding Educator, Gwinnett County Star teacher by a GACS student, and last year named high school teacher of the year by his peers at GACS. Kevin is known for making biology fun and exciting.
Mr. Nutt and his wife, Debby, celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary this year. He has 3 children who all attend GACS; Andrew (16) 10th grade, Annelise (12) 7th grade, and Ashlyn (7) 1st grade.
