Greater Atlanta Christian School Summer Reading Program for Junior High
The purpose of summer reading is to maintain the reading habit during the summer. We want kids to read and whenever possible enjoy what they are reading. In addition we want to start out the year with books to talk about. The Book Clubs in junior high are an opportunity for faculty and students to get to know each other while they discuss books that they read in common. The junior high faculty is committing time over the summer to reading these books as well. The links below will explain in detail what is required of each student. The information below is organized by grade level.
Each student who will be in junior high next year needs to sign up for a Book Club book. The buttons on the right will take you to the sign up page for your grade level. Make sure to sign up for exactly one book club. You may of course read more than one of the books on that list but you can only be in one club. The book that you choose for the Book Club will be the first of your required summer reading. To find out how to complete your summer reading, consult one of these three documents below: Rising 6th grade summer reading, Rising 7th grade summer reading, or Rising 8th grade summer reading. For each grade level there will be a log to be turned in the first week of class. If you prefer you can choose the save paper option and print only the reading log to turn in.
I hope you find some books to love this summer; if you have a question please contact either Bonnie Baker or Jami Denton and we will clear things up. Thank you for your cooperation and support of summer reading.
