Brass Teachers
Greg Leathers – Trombone
Mr. Leathers graduated from the University of Georgia with Bachelor’s degree and Manhattan School of Music with his Master’s in Trombone Performance. Before college, Mr. Leathers had a solid background in trombone performance with summer performance sat the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan and the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado. Mr. Leathers performs with the American Wind Symphony, a group which tours different parts of the United States. Although he loves performing, Mr. Leather also loves teaching. Before coming to GACS School of music, Mr. Leathers taught at University of Georgia and prior to that Manhattan School of music. Mr. Leathers is a local boy, born in Snellville and a graduate of Brookwood High School. Outside of music Mr. Leathers loves running. He has run a number of races around the country, and will of course be one of the 55,000 other runners this July 4th at the Peachtree road Race.
Mike Wilson - Brass
Mr. Wilson is an active performer and instructor in the Atlanta area. He is principal trombone with the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra and Peachtree Symphonic Winds. He also performs with the GPC Dunwoody Brass Quintet, the Athens Brass and the Buisine Trombone Quartet. He holds degrees from Georgia State University in education and performance. His principal teachers include William Hill, David Fetter, Robert Boyd and John Swallow. He has performed with the Atlanta Symphony, Atlanta-Emory Orchestra, Greenville Symphony, Atlanta Pops and Nashville Pops Orchestras.
