City of Angels Mission 2006

A GACS mission team of twenty-eight students, alumni, and teachers traveled to Cozumel, Mexico to work with Ciudad de Angeles.  We worked closely with the 21 angels providing a VBS, devotional times, fun activities, and crafts.  Part of our team hosted a Special Olympics with several children who attend a special needs school near Ciudad de Angeles.  Part of our group focused on service projects which have been identified by Ciudad directors, Gary and Nancy Gardner – painting, repair work, yard work, clean-up activities.  In the evening we worked closely with the “moms” of the home – eight young ladies who work tirelessly to provide a safe, secure, Christian life for the 21 angels.  Our overall purpose for this week was to provide whatever service we could for the angels, the special school children, the Church members, and the community of Cozumel.
