Mrs. Nikki Gulley

Welcome to first grade!  I am thrilled to begin my fourth year at GACS.  The past three years have been an amazing blessing in my life, and I am looking forward to another exciting year!

I was born and raised in Athens, Greece where my parents have been missionaries for 30 years.  My father is from Greece and my mother grew up in Florida.  They met at Abilene Christian University, got married, and moved to Greece a week later to be full time missionaries!

It has always been my dream to become a teacher ever since I can remember.  I decided to move to the United States and attend Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.  It was there that I met my husband, Matt. I graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Elementary Education and one year later I received my Masters of Education Degree in Reading.

I taught 5th grade for one year in Cabot, Arkansas and then my husband and I moved to Georgia where I joined the faculty at GACS to teach first grade.

It is my goal to teach children in a way that is both fun and effective where maximum learning is achieved.  I strongly believe in children having hands on learning experiences and opportunities when possible.  I want by students to be immersed in an environment conducive to learning where they will become curious about the world we live in and life long learners.  More importantly, it is my mission to share God’s Word through my actions and Bible lessons in class, helping each child to grow as Jesus did, in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man.

My husband, Matt, and I are involved with the GACS spring break mission trip to Athens, Greece.  It has made a significant impact in our lives as well as the students’ lives.

Outside of the classroom I love to read, travel, spend time on the beach, visit my family, and play with our dog, Tyson.

This is a picture taken from my grandmother’s house on the island of Santorini in Greece .  This church collapsed during an earthquake and my grandmother rebuilt it just outside of her house.  We have spent many summers on this island enjoying the view and snorkeling in the Aegean Sea .

I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead of us!
