Hello! My name is Linda Byrd. It is such a blessing to have the opportunity to work with the second grade students at Greater Atlanta Christian School. It is so exciting to observe the students grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
I am a 1981 graduate of GACS. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Lander University in 1985. In 1993, I earned a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee.
My teaching career began in September of 1993 at Denmark Technical College where I taught in the Early Childhood degree program. I began teaching on the elementary level in August of 1994. I taught in Tennessee for 8 years. I have taught kindergarten, fifth and second grades for the past 13years. I began teaching at GACS in August of 2002. This is my sixth year at GACS.
My main enjoyment is to spread God's love through song. Singing is a major part of my walk with the Lord. My love of singing is shared with the students on a daily basis as we sing Bible verses and other motivational songs. It is so rewarding to see the students motivated to learn as they sing songs related to their lessons. It brings to mind the scripture in I Corinthians 14:15: “I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding.”
I am excited about working with you this year. I look forward to a wonderful year at GACS as we serve one another.
