• B.A. in Music Education from Lipscomb University
• B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University
• M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University

Experience:

·         20 years teaching experience in early childhood education 

(pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1^st grade)

·         8 years teaching 1^st grade at GACS

Classroom Philosophy:

          I believe that the first grade program should build upon the skills learned in kindergarten and that it should provide students the tools needed for continued growth.  I also think that students should begin taking responsibility for their own learning.  Children are naturally eager to learn.  I try to encourage their enthusiasm for school by providing a relevant and fun classroom.  If students are engaged in what they are learning, then they want to learn more.  I feel that I’ve done my job if my students are disappointed that it’s Friday and there won’t be school again until Monday!
