Mrs. Karen Cherry

Hello! I am pleased to be your 4th grade teacher this year. It is my mission to provide you an equitable opportunity to reach your potential in a secure, positive, innovative, and Christian environment which will prepare you to become a life long learner and a responsible citizen in our global society. I will also share God's word and show Christ's love for you through the reading of the Bible, my actions, and examples so that you may grow as Jesus did in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man.

I graduated from Harding Christian University with a B.A. in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Middle School Language Arts. I received my Master's in Education Degree from Walden University with a 4.0!

Teaching has been the only thing that I have ever wanted to do. I love to watch children learn and apply their knowledge as they gain self esteem from using their ideas and experiences.  This is my fourth year at GACS and my 12th year of teaching children! I have been honored to be nominated for Teacher of the Year for the past two years at GAC.  Prior to GACS I have taught in the Gwinnett and Dekalb County School Systems and a private Christian school in Houston, Texas. When I am not teaching, I love to snorkel off coral reefs and relax along the seashore. I also enjoy photography, playing cards/board games with my family, and decorating houses.

I hope you will enjoy your 4th grade year and recognize the growth that you will have in all areas of your life.

See you in the classroom,

Mrs. Cherry
