To All Elementary School Parents - Grades 1 – 5

Our first years with the Accelerated Reader Program have been a great success!  It has motivated the children to read for fun and cultivated an enthusiasm for reading.  This year we have updated our system and improved the expanse of the Accelerated Reader Program.  In continuing on this path, we see the program’s objectives as follows:

·         Increase the amount of reading.

·         Promote better reading comprehension.

·         Promote quality of reading through approved lists.

·         MAKE READING FUN!

All Students’ points have been reset to zero for the 2007-2008 school year.  Students will not be able to take tests on books for which they have previously been tested.

Certificate levels are defined for the coming year.  Your child can strive to achieve these levels during this school year.  Please click on the links to the Accelerated Reader Book List, cut-off dates for testing, and awards dates found on this page for more information.

Children may take tests on books they read this summer, but please make sure they re-read or review these books first.  We want all the children to feel successful and have a sense of accomplishment in their reading endeavors.
