Business Office news from Randall Jackson, VP for Finance
Q: What will change on the pay plans at GACS for next year?
RJ: Greater Atlanta Christian School is now able to accept Mastercard for tuition payments. This is a new program that is only a few months old and was designed by Mastercard and is unique to their card. When Mastercard is used to pay tuition there will be a charge of 2.5% of the tuition amount that will appear as a separate charge on your Mastercard statement.
Q: Will I be able to make yearly, quarterly and monthly payments by credit card?
RJ: Yes all payments will be accepted by credit card as will the reenrollment fee.
Q. Will I still be able to use Discover and American Express through FACTS Management?
RJ: Yes, Facts Tuition Management Company is partnered with GAC to offer a Discover and American Express option plan by phone. They will charge a 2.5% convenience fee. If a parent is interested they need to call the GACS student accounts office at 770-243-2216 to obtain a disclosure card.
Q:Can I use my VISA credit card?
RJ: Strange as it may sound, VISA does not participate in any tuition payment programs.
Q: Please explain the bank draft for parents who pay monthly.
RJ: Parents may go to the GACS website to enroll in the “ecashier” program. Facts will make all withdrawals from a customer’s bank account and then electronically deposit the amount to the GACS bank account and post payments to the GACS student account.
Q: What day of the month will funds be withdrawn from my account?
RJ: Facts will deduct the money on the 5th of each month.
Q: What if a parent doesn’t get paid until the tenth of the month?
RJ: The parent should call the GACS student accounts office at 770-243-2216 and explain their special need. GACS will work with Facts on an alternate date, but to meet the school needs we need most payments collected on the 5th.
Q: Can business office personnel help me enroll?
RJ: Yes, if a parent does not have access to the web they can come to the student accounts office, located on the 2nd floor of the Long Administration Bldg. Parent will need to bring a blank check with them.
Q: Can I sign up now before I know how much my payments will be for next year?
RJ: Yes, Facts needs the bank information no later than May 1. This will assure there is no problem when GACS transmits the forms. GAC will send a statement a few weeks prior to the June 5th deduction which will notify you prior to when the first transaction is made.
Q: What information do I need to have available when I visit “ecashier”?
RJ: The student ID from a recent bill, student graduation year, the GACS ID # 78218, and information from your check.
Q: When will Facts collect the $38 bank draft processing fee?
RJ: This payment will be collected approximately 2-4 weeks before the first transaction is made each year.
