Athletics
GACS has been a member of the Georgia High School Association since 1968 and is classified in Region 6-AA with organized sports beginning at the 7th grade level. Currently the Spartan athletic program fields 59 organized teams. Extensive athletic facilities include: 3 gymnasiums, lighted baseball field, inside batting cages, 6 tennis courts, softball field, soccer stadium, 5000-seat football and track stadium with an 8-lane, rubberized track, fully-equipped weight room. The newest facility additions are the Aquatic Center and the Athletic performance training center. During the 2006-2007 sports seasons we had 5 state titles: girls golf, boys soccer, girls basketball, boys tennis, and the cast & crew for One-Act play. There were 3 state runner-up titles, girls tennis, girls softball and boys track.
